Does it cost anything to join the program?
No, it’s free. 100% free. There is no catch, unless perhaps you’d like to throw a football around. That’s pretty fun.
Do I have to be 18 to join?
Yes.
How does the program work?
You’ll receive points for:
Earn 10 points for buying tickets online at Ticketfly.com or at the 9:30 Club or Merriweather Box office. There’s no need to enter a number, just make sure your email address on Ticketfly matches up with the email address you used to register for Friends with Benefits. In addition, you can buy tickets online for any of our I.M.P. shows at Echostage, Patriot Center, Meyerhoff Symphony Orchestra and more. Just make sure your Ticketmaster email matches up with the email address you used to register for Friends with Benefits. We don’t get access to Ticketmaster purchasing data immediately so credit for these purchases will show up in your account within 72 hours of the show date.
• Earn 25 points : Attending a 9:30 presents at U Street Music Hall show with a paid ticket when you get your FWB card scanned at the door.
• Earn 35 points : Attending a show at 9:30 Club with a paid ticket when you get your FWB card scanned at the door.
• Earn 45 points : Attending a show at Lincoln Theatre with a paid ticket when you get your FWB card scanned at the door.
• Earn 55 points : Attending a show at Merriweather Post Pavilion with a paid ticket when you get your FWB card scanned at the gate.
• Earn 50 points : Attending a show at Echostage with a paid ticket when you get your FWB card scanned at the 9:30 table.
• Earn 55 points : Attending a show at Patriot Center with a paid ticket when you get your FWB card scanned at the 9:30 table.
• Earn 55 points : Attending a show at Meyerhoff Symphony Orchestra with a paid ticket when you get your FWB card scanned at the 9:30 table.
• Earn 1 point for each dollar spent : Buying artist or house merch at 9:30 Club or Merriweather Post Pavilion, and Lincoln Theatre.
• Earn 1 point for each dollar spent : Buying food and beverage at 9:30 Club, Merriweather Post Pavilion or Lincoln Theatre.
• Earn 1 point : Tweet or post that you’ve bought tickets to an upcoming show.
Why do you ask my birthday?
Because we want to help you celebrate with a free 9:30 Cupcake! Nothing goes better with a birthday show than tasty, tasty sugar. Pick a show that you have tickets for within a month of your birthday and email friends@930.com 72 hours prior to the show. We’ll hold one for you! Cupcakes will be available at 9:30 Club, Merriweather Post Pavilion and 9:30 presents at U Street Music Hall shows. Lincoln Logs will be available for your “birthday treat” at The Lincoln Theatre. They are baked fresh daily and go like… well, fresh cupcakes… so be sure to RSVP to let us know when you’re coming.
When do I get my points?
Points will be uploaded within 72 hours of transaction.
Can I combine cards?
No. Much like oil and water, Friends with Benefits accounts can’t be combined.
What happens if I forget my card–can I still get credit for that visit?
Sure. Just use your virtual card. Forgot that too? Why we oughtta…
No worries. Email us at friends@930.com. Just save your receipt or paid ticket stub and we can help you out.
What happens to my card if it’s lost or stolen?
Don’t take the law into your own hands! Email us at friends@930.com and we’ll get you a new card.
Will I be inundated with emails once I register?
No, but you will automatically be signed up for our excellent weekly newsletter, and we may occasionally send you presale offers, invitations and late night… just kidding!
And yes, you can opt out any time.
